MIHSA Executive Committee Duties and Responsibilities

The MIHSA Executive Committee members hold a very responsible position in the Students Association and each member has particular roles and responsibilities.

Duties of the President

  1. To guide the Executive Committee in identifying and accomplishing its aims and objectives.
  2. To plan an agenda for all meetings and make it available.
  3. To be the official spokesperson of the Executive Committee.
  4. To be held responsible for the progress of the Students’ Association.
  5. Preside at all meetings of the Executive Committee.
  6. Call special meetings of the Executive Committee.
  7. Represent the students at school administrative meetings when deemed necessary.

Duties of the Vice-President

  1. Perform duties assigned him/her by the President.
  2. Assume duties of the President in absence of the President.
  3. Monitor weekly duties.
  4. Represent the student body at school meetings as requested by the President.
  5. Monitor the works of Club Presidents.
  6. Assume the position of public relations director.

Duties of the Secretary General

  1. Take minutes of all Executive Committee meetings.
  2. Take and record attendance at all meetings.
  3. Record points earned by members for lettering purposes.
  4. Maintain a file for future reference.
  5. Send out proper notice for all special Executive Committee meetings.
  6. Work with Clubs.

Duties of the Treasurer

  1. Collect subscriptions from Members.
  2. Plan ways/events to raise finance to the Association.
  3. Keep records of all financial transactions.
  4. Supervise any money transactions sponsored by student council (Fundraisers, tournament, etc.)
  5. Prepare and submit financial reports to the weekly meetings.

Duties of the Presidents English Club

  1. Head the English Club.
  2. Submit the activity plans of English club to executive committee.
  3. Execute the plans endorsed from the Executive Committee.
  4. Interact with students.
  5. Share opinion and ideas.

Duties of the Presidents Dhi-Islam Club

  1. Head the Dhi-Islam Club.
  2. Prepare plans of awareness campaigns, seminars, competitions etc regarding Islam, Dhivehi Language, Dhievhi Culture etc.
  3. Submit the activity plans of Dhi-Islam club to executive committee.
  4. Execute the plans endorsed from the Executive Committee.
  5. Interact with students.
  6. Share opinion and ideas.

Duties of the Presidents Business Club

  1. Head the Business Club.
  2. Prepare plans of awareness campaigns, seminars, competitions etc related to Business, Management and Economics.
  3. Submit the activity plans of Business club to executive committee.
  4. Execute the plans endorsed from the Executive Committee.
  5. Interact with students.

Duties of the Presidents Social Club

  1. Head the Social Club.
  2. Prepare plans of sports and other social activities, programs, competitions and events.
  3. Submit the activity plans of Social club to executive committee.
  4. Execute the plans endorsed from the Executive Committee.
  5. Interact with students.
  6. Share opinion and ideas.

Duties of the Vice Presidents of Clubs

  1. Perform duties assigned him/her by the President of the Club.
  2. Assume duties of the President of the club in absence of the President.
  3. Monitor the activities of the club.
  4. Represent the club at meetings as requested by the President.

Duties of the House Captains

  1. To guide the Executive objectives of the House.
  2. To plan all the House meetings.
  3. To be the official spokesperson of the House.
  4. To be held responsible for the progress of the House.
  5. Preside at all meetings of the House.
  6. Call special meetings of the House Committee.
  7. To make sure the House participates in all the events, competitions and other activities of the school.
  8. Represent the House at the executive committee meetings when deemed necessary.

Duties of the Deputy House Captains and House Committee Members

  1. Deputy House assumes duties of the Captain in absence of the Captain.
  2. Perform duties assigned him/her by the President of the Club.
  3. Assist to run the House.
  4. Monitor the activities of the House.
